The first day of the USSI – Universal Sports for Social Impact Pilot & Training of Trainers (ToT), funded by the Erasmus+ Programme (Project No. 101183224), was successfully launched at the SMART Sports Center.

The event opened with welcoming remarks from the representatives of ASSA (Albanian Sport Science Association) and People in Fokus, highlighting the importance of sport as a powerful tool for social inclusion, peace-building, and personal development.

The session continued with distinguished contributions from national sport federation representatives:

  • Shkurt ÇULLHAJ, Technical Director of the Albanian Judo Federation
  • Idajet DOLLOMAJA, Chief Referee of the Albanian Judo Federation
  • Rigenc Kërçuku, General Secretar of the Albanian Karate Federation

Their insights emphasized the role of structured sport methodologies in strengthening coaching quality, ethical standards, and youth development in Albania.

The USSI project aims to promote positive values, social inclusion, peace, and personal growth through sport-based methodologies.

The core objective of the pilot phase is the transfer and adaptation of the Sport Academy Methodology (SAM) to strengthen the capacities of sports organizations and athletes in Albania, Kosovo, and Montenegro.

The Pilot Focuses On:

1️⃣ Adapting the “SAM” methodology to the specific needs of sports organizations.
2️⃣ Localizing and practically implementing interdisciplinary training modules for coaches and educators.

The first day concluded with interactive discussions and practical reflections, setting a strong foundation for the second day of training.
