When a child gets involved in an activity that he likes and feels psychologically good , he performs better in school and in other areas of life. Inclusion in sports activities brings a variety of benefits to the child, not just physical and health, but also psychological and mental. Sport helps the child shape his character, be social, work in groups and build a strong, persistent, work-oriented character. But how can we choose a sport that suits the child?

Each child differs from the other, in aspects that only the parent knows and differentiates. Knowing your child, his / her personality, his / her physique, and preferences, a parent can make a good choice for his or her child. Initially, the parent should take into account the time he will spend following his child’s sports agenda. If the parent is determined and finds time to follow his child, he or she learns and transmits “discipline” to the child. It is important for the parent to introduce the child to some sports discipline in order to create a child’s choice.

While exploring, observe your child and see where he feels more enthusiastic, where does he perform better and what kind of sport he or she prefers, individual or team-oriented sports. Try to concentrate on your child, not your wishes to make the child a football or a basketball player. Consider sports such as volleyball, karate, swimming, athletics, judo, and so on. Your child can perform better in these sports and enjoy them more than football or basketball. Do not forget to adjust the physical characteristics of your child’s body with the sport you choose to try.

Remember that in this case, you are investing in your child. It is he / she who decides what direction to take. Activating your children with sports requires time, patience, and often a monetary investment, but the discipline, co-operation, and work you teach your child lasts for life.
